This sister property to The Malcolm Hotel will bring a new wave of wellness tourists to the Canmore area, driving a strong visitor economy for Alberta and cementing our status as a wellness destination of choice for travellers from around the world. 

Our destination development team partnered with owner Frank Kernick to provide development support, connections to our network, and alignment to our long-term vision for Alberta’s tourism sector. When a comprehensive business case was built out demonstrating the project’s high growth potential, we accelerated its development by supporting it through our Tourism Investment Program.

The Alexander Spa Hotel is a great example of what happens when we work together with passionate entrepreneurs around a shared vision: to deliver high-quality experiences that encourage travellers to choose Alberta, stay longer, spend more, and travel here in any season.

The Alexander Spa Hotel is unique because it will harness geo-exchange technology to generate renewable power. The Spring Creek Mountain Village is the first community in Alberta to achieve BUILT GREEN Community Status, with a strong commitment to environmental, social and economic sustainability across its properties.
